About Aniiyah
Aniiyah began her adventure into the healing world of plants as a little girl. Her Grandmother made her own medicines and body products, and was considered a “granola tree hugger” before that term was “cool”. Aniiyah’s Mother was a florist and always had a glorious garden. It was always an adventure to work pulling weeds while she listened to her Mom talk to the veggies and flowers.
As an adult with some serious health issues, and a desire to be more self aware of health options, (that did not include high doses of pharmaceuticals) she began foraging for her own medicines based on what she remembered from her Grandmother. Aniiyah imagines this story is the same for many, but it was really exciting for her when she began to feel in her body, and “hear” and see things from the plants around her. These insights and “Aha’s” made her question the accepted practices of “treat the symptom rather than the whole” with pharmaceuticals. She was listening to the plants and to her own body and was getting better! But she decided she needed more training, so she embarked on an educational journey with Heartstone School of Earth Essentials, and completed her training and graduated as a Certified Herbalist in 2016.
Her Grandmother and Mother taught her the “language” of the green world. Heartstone gave her the education she needed, the hill land where she lives with her husband and many four-leggeds, offers her the plants she uses for medicine, food, and elemental art projects, and her relationship to God gives her the Peace of heart and mind to trust the Creators Creation!
Why R&R Retreat Space?
Aniiyah is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist, a practicing Certified Herbalist, Certified Reflexologist, Reiki Master, Certified Meridian Massage Therapist, Certified Craniosacral Therapist, Certified through Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital for Cancer Massage, and Practices Daily Breath Work, meditation, and prayer.
She believes that in this time and space of physical reality, we are moving into the being-ness of a new human species. A kinder, more compassionate, and heart centered Human Species.
To help this shift along, humans need time in nature, time without technology, time to hear and feel themselves, time to connect to God, and to hear His voice clearly.
This understanding that every human being has the capability to create a healthy joyful life, and that creating that life may require a little help, has fueled her passion to offer this space, built by her beloved husband Fred, to others.
Klockwise R&R Retreat cottage provides a safe, comfortable, peace-filled space immersed in nature, where you can relax and settle into your authentic, unplugged and unburdened from “the world”, Self.
About Fred
Fred grew up on the family farm. As many farm kids with little money, he learned to fix things that broke, and to take apart and repurpose items that others had deemed as unfixable garbage.
He had an eye for art, a love of farm life, and a heart for making the world a more beautiful place…
He spent 4 years in the Navy as a welder, helmsman, ship maintenance, security, and firefighting. When he completed his time in the Navy, he came back home to the place that held his heart, and started building our home out of recycled materials from construction jobs that he did.
Fred is a master fire-tender and has built 4 different ceremonial fire “pits” of differing sizes for the magical work here on the hill. He finds tremendous satisfaction in the homesteading lifestyle, and when he is not getting creative in his workshop, he is doing deep dives into the world of questioning narratives! Fred loves the Garden and wildcrafting with Aniiyah and together they bottle and package Klockwise herbal remedies.
